Sarah Ossiya, Uganda – Treasurer

Dr. Sarah Ossiya has been the Uganda Country Director for a number of agriculture-based institutions and is currently a development agency advisor in South Sudan. Dr. Ossiya earned her doctorate in Rangeland Ecology and Management at Texas A&M University. Dr. Ossiya is an expert on pastoralism and the impact of agriculture on low income communities, with an emphasis on women. She is a significant contributor to the shaping of Uganda's poverty reduction policy. Dr. Ossiya formerly worked for Panos Eastern Africa, coordinating a Pastoralist Communication Program across eight African countries and working to strengthen entrepreneurial capacity and trade opportunities for target communities. She also supervised graduate theses at the Faculty of Agriculture, Makerere University, Kampala and the Department of Development Studies, Mbarara University, Uganda.
